Instant Theatre

Instant theatre is one of the most radical forms of participatory theatre currently developed.

“Imagine an audience fresh-gathered for a performance, seated in the round. It may assume it has come to witness a play put on by three actors. But the actors have no more idea what the outcome will be than the audience has. The audience is to be the playwright.”

I began working with Word And Action, the world's leading Instant Theatre practioners, in Oct 2004, collaborating in particular with Susan Dance, freelance drama worker and regional Scottish Instant Theatre contact. The end of 2004, saw us returning home from a successful 3 week European tour, in which we worked on 23 performances in different schools across Denmark. Following this success we returned to denmark in March 05 for a short spring tour, to accompany with the country's Hans Christian Anderson celebrations.
